IS LOOSE LEAF TEA BETTER THAN TEA BAGS?

Cuples Tea House carries premium loose leaf teas that offer a much higher quality and taste than most store bought tea bags. In fact, the taste is one, very important reason that people prefer loose tea’s – not to mention the numerous health benefits associated with tea and let us not forget that it is more environmentally friendly to use loose leaf tea. Tea bags can be super easy, especially while on the go, but it would be our recommendation that loose leaf wins over tea bags!

KNOW YOUR TEA

BLACK TEAS

Black tea is the most common variety and accounts for about 75 percent of global tea consumption. Black tea has a slightly bitter flavor and contains the most caffeine.

TEA BLENDS (FLAVORED TEAS)

Tea blends often have the best of both worlds since they combine more than one type of premium tea. In this category, aromatic extras, such as cinnamon, orange peel, and lavender, are paired with black, green, or white tea leaves.

GREEN TEAS

Green tea is the most popular type of tea. Some loose leaf green teas are scented with flowers or mixed with fruits to create scented or flavored teas.  Green tea has a more delicate flavor than black. Green tea is full of antioxidants.

HERBAL TEAS (TISANES)

Technically herbal teas are not teas at all – they are usually some combination of dried fruits, flowers and herbs.  Herbal varieties contain NO CAFFEINE.  Herbal teas can be broken into three categories: Rooibos, Yerba Maté and Herbal Infusions.

OOLONG TEAS

Oolong tea is full-bodied with a flavorful fragrance and sweet aroma. Oolong is similar to black tea, but it’s fermented for a shorter time, which gives it a richer taste.

WHITE TEAS

White tea is the purest and least processed of all teas. This loose-leaf tea brews a light color and has a much milder flavor than any other variety, not to mention less caffeine.
