It was really a no brainer when I decided to become a business owner. I spent my entire career in communications, most recently managing an Emmy-award winning television station and teaching multi-media production at Morgan State University and Towson State University [both in Baltimore, MD]. In my search to find alternatives to carbonated, sugary drinks and sugar laden juices, I discovered tea. Because there were so many varieties and flavors to choose from, and not to mention it’s many medicinal purposes, I knew I wanted learn more about tea.

After many months of researching and learning about tea, we decided that we wanted to pursue the possibilities of opening a tea house. Hence Cuples Tea House. In our education, we have explored tea, shared tea with our friends and family, enjoyed hosting our tea parties. The thing that excites me most about this new venture is sharing our love and passion for tea with you and educating our customers of the many health benefits of this wonderful beverage.

The idea of a Tea House had been something that I had considered for a long time.  My background is in Public Relations and Communications, therefore I knew that becoming a business owner wasn’t too far off from the realm of possibilities.  In 2015, while having tea in one of my favorite cafe’s, my husband and I resolved that we wanted to give business ownership a shot, and we knew we wanted to do it with an urban inspired flare.  We both love to entertain, and I enjoy cooking and event planning. In June of 2015, we went to the World Tea Expo Conference in Long Beach, CA and that solidified our decision.  We started with a series of soft launches which led to our official website launch in October 2015, as they say, the rest is history.
