JO1A1978
Tea is the most widely consumed beverage in the world next to water, and can be found in almost 80% of all U.S. households. It is the only beverage commonly served hot or iced, anytime, anywhere, for any occasion. Cuples Tea carries over 50 kinds of loose tea, including black teas, green teas, herbal teas (infusions), and flavored teas (black or green tea plus other flavors).
Starting out, you should know that most varieties of black, green and white teas are usually very widely known and familiar but teas such as rooibos and oolong are not as familiar, but are very easy to appreciate.
Black, green, white and oolong teas all come from the same plant, a warm-weather evergreen named Camellia Sinensis.
Differences among the five types of tea result from the various degrees of processing and the level of oxidization:
– Black tea is fully oxidized and oolong teas are partially oxidized. After withering and rolling, the tea leaves undergo natural chemical reactions resulting in taste and color changes which develop the teas distinguishing characteristics.
– Green & white teas are not oxidized after leaf harvesting.
– Oolong tea is midway between black and green teas in strength and color.

Green Tea vs Yerba Mate

Aug 22, 2013

We all know of green tea. It’s been called the Elixir of Life and has been hailed as a powerful medicinal herb for thousands of years. It’s good stuff. There’s no doubt about that. And when you compare it to the highly acidic and toxic coffee, it’s a no-brainer that green tea is the healthier option. With less caffeine and a healthy stack of antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, and compounds that restore life and give you energy, green tea is truly a powerhouse of health and wellbeing.

IS LOOSE LEAF TEA BETTER THAN TEA BAGS?

Cuples Tea House carries premium loose leaf tea bags that offer a much higher quality and taste than most store bought tea bags. In fact, the taste is one very important reason that people prefer loose tea’s – not to mention the numerous health benefits associated with tea and let us not forget that it is more environmentally friendly to use loose leaf tea. Tea bags can be super easy, especially while on the go, but it would be our recommendation that whole loose leaf tea wins over tea bags!
